After having two successful footwear collaborations with Nike, Riccardo Tisci has unveiled a two-part performancewear range. When asked what he thought of the partnership, he commented, “Nike is an American company and very well perceived.” Adding, “The opportunity makes a big statement. I think it’s a dream of any designer’s to be in everybody’s home.”
It seems like a natural fit, as some pieces in his Givenchy collections have an air of sportmax to them.
The first part of the collection incorporates a floral kaleidoscope print inspired by flowers from Oregon (Nike’s hometown), Rio de Janeiro (the destination of the 2016 Summer Olympics) and Taranto, Italy (where Tisci was born). The second range, has a more monochrome base and is predominantly in black and white graphics with some slogans such as, “Engineered to the exact specifications of Riccardo Tisci.”
The NikeLab x Riccardo Tisci collaboration campaign was shot by Inez & Vinoodh, and stars track-and-field athlete Sanya Richards-Ross and decathlete Ashton Eaton. The collection will be split into two deliveries, the first to hit selected NikeLab stores and Nike.com in July, and the second drop in August.
Get your iCals in order, as this collaboration is set to sell faster than you can say “sneakers.”
